Introduction and Apology

I dreamed a dream in time gone by, and boy was it a doozy.
In this dream -- clearly an extension ad absurdum of too many slashfics -- membership in Les Amis d'ABC entailed a hazing ritual, in which the new fellow was subjected to intimate, er, advances in front of a jury of his sympathetic peers.
And then she woke up and made the mistake of telling me, and it was downhill from there. I thought it sounded like a wonderful, awful idea, and I wanted to write it. She wouldn't let me -- unless we wrote it together. That's what we're doing, now.
It entails having a whole set of Amis with a lot of problems. It requires a great deal of suspension of disbelief on the part of the authors, and more from the audience. When reading, one may almost hear the thump-thump-thump of M'sieur Hugo, revolving.
We don't intend this to be particularly funny, except that it is ludicrous by nature. If you spent much of it giggling, please email us and complain. You were supposed to be disturbed, dear reader, or at least a little upset.
In any case, we find it entertaining, rather in the manner of a car accident by the side of the road. We hereby cordially invite you to indulge your morbid fascination and appreciation for amorous Frenchmen in A Wasps' Nest.
Whenever you find large portions of italicized text, they are from the Project Gutenberg version of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables for the very simple reason that we're rather too lazy to type any other translation. This is not to imply that this is the best translation into English. However, the fact remains that we didn't make these kids up. We just changed them.
